Moving to Chicago

International travelers must receive clearance from US Customs and Border Protection before entering Chicago.

Handling Customs & Entry Into the US.

If you're traveling from another country to Chicago, you'll likely fly into the United States through O'Hare International Airport. Upon arrival, you'll exit the gate and proceed to the Customs and Border Protection processing area. You'll generally follow these steps to successfully gain entry into Chicago:

4. After clearing customs, you can leave the airport and head to your destination. The inspection process takes 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on how busy it is and whether you encounter any issues. 
5. Atlas International works on clearing your shipment through customs at its destination port. A moving crew then retrieves your items and prepares them for transport to your new home.
